Nature has always spoken to Charity Anderson. Born in 1991, Charity grew up along the Logan River and the slopes of the Wellsville Mountains. Being raised in Cache Valley, Utah, helped cultivate her deep love for the outdoors. Her passion for exploring wild spaces has only grown, as she frequently embarks on backpacking trips to the Eastern Sierras and Wind River mountain ranges, drawing inspiration from their rugged beauty.

While attending college at Brigham Young University-Idaho, Charity’s life changed with the introduction of oil painting. She quickly became captivated by the medium, describing the process of mixing the smooth paint as “exhilarating.” Soon after, she took her first plein air class and was delighted to merge her two passions: nature and painting. Today, Charity continues to regularly paint on location, observing the natural world and recording her experiences through oil paint.

Charity graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2015. She spent several years in Northern California, capturing the Bay Area’s diverse landscapes, before returning to Cache Valley, Utah, in 2020. Thrilled to be back home, she continues to paint the mountains and valleys that first inspired her.

As a mother to a young boy, Charity finds new wonder in nature’s beauty through his eyes. She strives to celebrate the fleeting, sacred moments of the outdoors and hopes to visually convey the profound connections she feels with the natural world through her art.
